Last week I did a podcast with Shelomo Solson. His podcast’s purpose is to help teens through those challenging teenage years. His podcast with me focused on my troubled teenage years, as well as my bipolar and depression, suicidality, self-harm, coping skill recommendations, and many other dribs and drabs. Oh, and I did it while sitting on my couch.
Natasha Tracy Talks Her Teen Years
I don’t talk about my teen years very much. Bipolar, depression, distress, self-harm, whatever you would like to focus on, they really weren’t that much fun. They were a while ago, and in many respects, I’m quite happy not to think about them.
That being said, where we come from informs where we are today. Not only that but by talking about how we got through past challenges, we can help others currently experiencing those challenges. Of all people, I understand this to be true.
So part of this podcast focuses on my teenage and young-adult struggles in an effort to help others who may be experiencing them today. That type of talk might even be able to help parents of children with mental illness (or suspected mental illness).
Natasha Tracy Talks Bipolar and Depression Insights
But, of course, that’s not all we talked about. I also talked about bipolar and depression and coping skills for so many situations. I hope these won’t only help young people, but help anyone experiencing various kinds of distress today.
So, after much ado, I give you The Teenage Image podcast hosted by Shelomo Solson, with guest Natasha Tracy. Please like, please comment and please share.
You can also listen to this podcast on Spotify, iTunes and elsewhere.
If you are currently in distress, please see these help resources.
Natasha, I can’t remember you writing about teens with bipolar *parents*.. It had a huge effect on our family, and still does 20 years later. I will forever feel dreadful guilt at the difficulties my kids have faced because of my treatment of them during my bad episodes. A burden I’ll carry until I die.
